News

Well, our camera is not working right now, so no pictures on this post. We do have bits of news, though.

Dzia-dzia (Polish for grandfather, pronounced Ja-ja) has been here for a week now. He, Daddy and Jordan have done so much around the house. They put in new baseboards in all the downstairs rooms, installed a new door, and constructed a pantry. And that is in between visits to people who want to see Dzia-dzia, attending a Southern gospel sing, and work at a friend's house. It is so wonderful to sit and talk with him at night, gleaning wisdom, and hearing about Daddy's childhood.

Daddy and Mommy have had their interviews for the adoption. The next step is an interview for each of us children. We can do our interviews at home, though, so we don't have to be at the office for several hours. After the interviews I think we can start looking for children. They may be with us by some time in September. We can't wait!

Pictures of the dresses that we made are coming, but Kayla is making one now too, so we are waiting until her's is done (and the camera works).

That's all that is happening around here right now. God bless.

It's Mommy's Birthday!

Happy birthday, Mommy! We are so glad that God has chosen to give to us as a mother. You are the best mother we could ever imagine. Enjoy your day. We love you!

Eggs!

We got our first eggs from our chickens a couple of days ago. They are so tiny right now. So far we do not have any double yolk eggs, but we're sure they are coming!

Mommy's Helper

Last night Mommy was out weeding in the backyard, and Kendra decided to help her. Kendra changed out of her nice clothes and put her hair up, then got to work. She got some pretty big weeds out of the ground!

School Vacation

This month has been our only month of school vacation for this year, so we have been really busy. We are hoping to get placement of our new children in September, so we are going back to school on July second and taking some time off when the children come. We are so excited for the children coming, and getting the house prepared.

During the month of June we have been doing a lot of sewing for a regency era party that we will be attending soon. Our sewing skills are slowly but surely improving, and we finally know how to get a zipper in very nicely. We will post pictures of all of us in costume when the outfits are done.

Nikki had her first cello recital on the fifteenth. She did a wonderful job, and was able to play in a trio with some friends that also play cello. We are hoping to play our instruments more with families that we know, as it is a wonderful way to practice sight-reading and learn other hymns.

Our Bible study on Sunday nights has been wonderful. Several new families have come, and the fellowship is very refreshing. Hopefully, we will grow into a full-fledged church eventually, but the study is just right for now.

Our friends have recently introduced us to contra dancing and English country dancing. They are kind of like square dancing and line dancing. We have forgotten our camera both times we went to a dance, but their will be plenty of chances in the future. Daddy is such a gentleman, making sure we girls have someone to dance with, and doing the dances with us even if they are not his favorite.

Well, that is a quick update on us. God has really blessed us, even in our time of busyness, and is teaching us to be patient about getting the children. Also, instead of making us wait for any babies, He has very graciously given us time with several friends with babies, which has been lovely.

May God bless you all as richly as He has been blessing us, and draw you to Him through it.

Shauna's birthday is today! I can't believe she is ten already! We have seen so much growth in her spiritually in the last year. She will endure much in order to keep others out of trouble and she shows much enthusiasm in spending time in God's word everyday. We hope to have another year just as fun filled and amazing! We love you!

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend was pretty busy at our house. We are trying to get some projects done now because our summer break will only be about a month. We girls worked on getting all the school books from last year put away in our brand-new pantry that Daddy and Jordan made. Now we have a little more shelf space. I think this is the first time we have ever had a bookshelf that wasn't completely full!
In addition to the pantry, Daddy and Jordan finished leveling out the little hill in our backyard. Now if we could just get some grass!
