Fathers Day

The Highway Man
The semis, cars, and motorbikes, created a gusty brezz,
The sun beat down on blacktop, and on the scattered jeans.
First he picked up the clothes from the on-ramp, to make an honest buck,
Then the highwayman went driving
Driving,
Driving,
The highway man went driving, in his old, bright orange truck.
Heed the hard hat on his forhead, and the orange vest over his back,
As he hangs a bent sign on the wood post, which was caused by a speeding jack.
Now he turns, and on his eye catches, a seemingly large bit of cash,
So the highwayman went striding,
Striding,
Striding,
The highway man went striding, only to have his hopes dashed.
Disappointed, he turns back to his work, then finds a kitten small,
And he takes the cat home to his children, and pleases them one and all.
So he finishes work that day happy, with one real dollar to spare,
Then the highway man went driving,
Driving,
Driving,
The highway man went driving to the corner to get a coke there.
One day taking roadkill from shoulders, it happened one still was alive,
He swung at that bird with a shovel, and it craftily tooka great dive.
But our hero did end up victorious, though that turkey did resist and duck,
And the highway man went driving,
Driving,
Driving,
The highway manwent driving, with the bird in the back of his truck.
We love you Dad.
