Hawks

This afternoon we had a very strange experience. Shauna and I were doing the dishes when we looked out the window at about the same time and saw a whole group of hawks circling our backyard! Raylene was sitting at the computer so we called her over to see then headed outside to get some pictures. For some reason unknown to us a total of 18 hawks circled and finally landed on a trees across the street from us. They stayed there about half an hour and then just flew away. Here are some of them circling our chicken coop. By the time they left all the chickens were under the house trying to hide, but nothing came of it.

This tree seemed to be the favorite, for most of them at one time or other landed on it.

Before we brought out the other camera to zoom in closer Jordan said he would like to get a look at them through a rifle scope. Kendra innocently asked why, and then was horrified when he replied "to shoot them!"

It was interesting seeing these wild creatures in the middle of the city.
