Daddy has been full of surprises recently. A couple of days last week he arrived home from work late with cardboard boxes in his hands. We children knew about the first box, which was a surprise for Mommy.
Five ducklings were in Mom's box. These are a breed that lay many eggs a year, and their wings are short enough that they can't fly away. We have two males and three females, so we will be raising ducks to butcher as well as lay eggs.
Dad surprised Shauna and I with our own rabbits. Shauna's is Albany, a very fluffy albino that is rather skittish, but very sweet.
Mine is Petra. It was going to be Peter, but since it is a girl, we thought that Petra might be better:). She is full of energy and attitude, and will snuggle up very quickly.

A little girl I babysit came over a while ago, and we were telling her about all of our animals. She asked how many more we had to have before we became a zoo. I think we might qualify now!
